The Project Profile is an internal tool in which project managers communicate requirements to developers to build websites. The tool exists currently as an Excel document, but we are looking to create a web application that will project managers and developers log notes, attached files, and sent notifications for project requirements and updates.
Project managers and developers want to communicate about projects efficiently so that requirements are understood more clearly. The current procedure of sharing information in an Excel spreadsheet is cumbersome and prone to errors. Additionally, the process itself needs to be reevaluated to consider updates processes and remove irrelevant information.

Summary of Role
- Gather requirements from project managers and developers
- Conduct workshops for definition and ideation
- Synthesis findings into wireframes and prototypes
Interviews and Discovery
While all agreed the current method of delivering project profiles was clunky, the process itself was not quite understood agreeably by project managers and developers. The first step was to understand the project itself by understanding each role’s needs. Through individual interviews with project managers and developers and a focus group, the process wireflow was developed to help both key groups understand the process as a whole.
Workshop and Initial Wireframes
After the initial workshop to discuss the current process, the focus group met again to discuss the requirements for a new tool and how the information would flow through each step. Groups were formed to develop initial wireframes.
After gathering feedback from the workshop, wireframes were designed in Adobe XD from the drawn wireframes. Popular ideas from the workshop, in conjunction with current processes.
Plans are in place for the focus group to meet again and discuss the refined wireframes. The design thinking process implemented in the workshop will continue to provide feedback and direction for the project. Once wireframes are approved, the project will be handed off to the development team to build and implement.
